Procedure by which the embryos were previously cryopreserved and transferred to the woman’s uterus in order to achieve a pregnancy.
This process, called embryo transfer, consists of the following phases:
- Conditioning of the uterus: through hormonal treatment with pills, the uterus will begin to be in optimal conditions to receive the embryos.
- Thawing of cryopreserved embryos : the embryos are thawed in our laboratory, where we will determine their degree of survival and viability to select those that can be transferred to the uterus.
- Embryo transfer : this is an intervention that is performed vaginally and does not require any type of anesthesia. The number of embryos to be transferred will be determined for each specific case, always taking into account the highest probability of pregnancy and the minimum probability of multiple pregnancy.
- Results : On the day of the transfer you will have to rest for around 4 hours. Afterwards, you must follow the hormonal treatment indicated by your gynecologist and lead a very calm lifestyle, avoiding violent physical exertion, sports, immersion baths and sexual relations until after having taken the first pregnancy test.
